Wow! My first image with 100 favorites:
I'm not sure what I was expecting when I first came to DeviantArt but this is a surprise regardless. I'm happy that at least some of my photos are being liked and I really appreciate it. Thanks for the kindness and support, I'm new to photography so something like this makes me confident that I can do some great pieces. Thanks for all the kindness!
Also, I welcome any criticisms on my photos. I have a ways to go and it shows in all my photos. I'll appreciate any help I can get!

Start it out strong!
Gone for Awhile
I've been gone for while, kind of lazy I guess, but I have been taking a lot of pictures...the best yet in my opinion. I've also got some new gear. I just switched from Sony to the Nikon d7100. I also got the 16-85 lens and a Tokina 100 f2.8 macro, so expect to see some small stuff too. I just received a new speedlight today as well, so I can't wait to play with it.
As for my photography, there is A LOT less landscapes, I haven't done anything with that in months. My focus has been more on photo manipulations and surrealist work. So mostly studio stuff. I'll start posting stuff soon...
Better Sharpening
I think I figured out how to make my images sharper. It seems I was exporting them in a way that wasn't optimized for viewing on this site. It looks as though my images are significantly sharper when I resize them then apply output sharpening. I start doing this from now on and re-edit some old images.
